Craftsmanship and High Tech
Standard machines are assembled in series. However, team orientated planning and production according to requirements of customers are the main task. Next to planning and project development the leading factors are:
Classic workmanship in modern performance; mechanical engineers, turners, electricians, electrical engineers are qualified staff with perfect control of every machine, from the first step until final assembly.
In addition, there is absolute high tech in the electronic workshop which exists since several decades.
Result: in 1989 the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Lothar Späth, awarded Upmann the “Professor-Adalbert-Seyfritz Award” for exemplary technology transfer with the university of Dortmund, for elaborated electronic programs and controls which are necessary for perfect weighing and packing.
